Let’s make this brief and to the point. Here are some steps to help you lose weight fast.
1 – Take each day as it comes one step at a time. Don’t try to do everything at once and change all your habits in one day. Begin by paying more attention to what you are eating, jot it all down if you have to. It’s easy to get carried away doing things the wrong way if we don’t have them written down so we can look at them and get the complete picture.
Then slowly cut back on the bad foods on your list and incorporate more healthy ones. The next step is to gradually add exercise to your daily routine too. If you are not so fond of exercising (you are not alone) take it again one step at a time by moving about at least 15 to 30 minutes a day. Small steps every day produce big results.
2 - Choose in both food and exercise things that you enjoy and that are still good for you on your way to dropping those extra pounds. If you engage in activities that you enjoy, you will soon find yourself able to stick to them long-term. If on the other hand you try to fight some agonizing exercise, you’ll find yourself giving up sooner than later. Same goes for food. There must be things you enjoy eating that are also healthy, right? Start there, one step at a time and eliminate as many of the bad food choices and cheat just occasionally if you have to.
3 – Build lean muscle. Men and women need lean muscle mass for a healthy body and it’s not there to just make you “stronger”. Building lean muscle will result in the burning of more fat and calories and an increased metabolism.
4 – Reduce your carbohydrate intake. Well, you cannot realistically cut dow on all carbs completely, because that’s unhealthy and your body needs some for energy. But reduce pasta and white bread because these are not great for your extra pounds. Replace them with whole wheat and brown carbs instead and you’ll not find it that difficult to sustain.
5 – Set only realistic goals that are measurable and attainable. If you set yourself some outrageous unrealistic goal you are just likely to get discouraged when you don’t achieve it as planned. You probably were just on the right track, but stopped before the time was right. Keep in mind that losing weight too fast is very unhealthy too and in most cases you are likely to gain your weight right back, the moment you loosen up a bit and go back to your previous diet. Make both short-term and long-term goals and attach a specific timeframe for best results.
6 – Be strong and give up the bad stuff as much as you can. Eating mountains of candy, cookies, cakes and other sweets… drinking soda and sugar laden drinks all the time is really not that good for your weight loss efforts. If you want to lose the pounds give these “treats” up.
7 – Have a healthy breakfast. Many make this mistake and skip the first meal thinking they just lost some pounds. Well often the contrary is true. If you starve too much your metabolism will slow down and you will start storing any extra fat you have. If you start with a healthy breakfast you will give your metabolism a jumpstart so it can run efficiently for the remainder of the day (and burn more fat).
8 – Leave something on your plate. I know some people just have to eat everything that’s on the plate or they will not be able to sleep. But try to be different. If you already feel full, don’t force yourself to eat all the food. Some people say that this technique alone has helped them lose significant amount of weight. If you eat slowly and take your time, you will feel full sooner and be able to satisfy your hunger. Avoid overeating.
If you take just few of these tips and give them an honest shot, you will get one step closer to achieving your ideal weight.
